I feel like KVD has just made it big, so my theory is, he just wants to be the best role model there is. That's his goal now, not win every thing, just show up and be the best dude in the world. I mean this guy, leaves Bret Ehler all alone so he can win the TTBC, just to go fish another spot where Ike snags a 5 lber on his power poles. And now, he leaves the tournament waters an hour early on Kentucky Lake just so he can tow Davy Hite's boat out of the water so Davy can catch a flight to see his son graduate HS. I mean KVD has been having some solid days on Kentucky, but would he like an extra hour to try and catch a 7 lber, sure, but he went in early to help out a guy. http://www.bassmaster.com/blogs/2015-elite-series-bassfest-live-blog/early-weigh-vandam-and-hiteBest role model in all of the sports world right now, class act. Role Model?? not close. Nice guy, yes to the right people. Would you say Ish is a role model?? He's just helped Lucas win. KVD is pompous to many a fisherman. Just like Ike, you either love him or you love to hate him....

Just like Ike, you either love him or you love to hate him.... go watch all the exstended cast of ish on MLF... you wont like him any more crybaby packed up and went home on ray roberts, said, "I hate fishing little fish lakes" on ray roberts and goes home. They dont advertise it but he doesn't weigh in and you never see him again int he footage I don't know how you get KVD as pompus? Confident yeah, but he is just ALWAYS SO POSITIVE about everything, and you never see him get down on anybody...

I'm not a huge KVD fan, but he seems to keep it pretty cool in a lot of situations. You take in to consideration the huge amounts of money these guys are fishing for it takes a big man to do some of the stuff these guys do. People think "oh being a professional fisherman how nice is that!" but these guys don't see their families a lot, it's constant stress of competition, unless you're a big name pro it's a huge financial risk. I would be so on the verge of blowing a gasket every tournament.

KVD wasn't even on the Water the day Ehler won the TTBC he got put out on 2 nd day
