Anyone use this? I hear it will stay on even after several trips and doesn't smell like DEET.

I have used it and yes it does work but unless they have changed it can only be used on clothes and not directly on your skin. If I remember right it is good for one washing and still works

It works very good. You must spray the clothing and let it completely dry before coming in contact with your skin or you could poison yourself.[ Don't ask me how I know.]

I think I am going to give it a try. I am also thinking about trying some of that high DEET stuff. I have seen stuff that is 80% plus DEET. Mosquitos are really bad this year.

After I had around with west nile I'm a beleiver in what ever works I use Deet 100 and it works but it will set you on fire. As for permethrin I know it works on livestock alot of 30 day spot-on dog treatments have it in them.

I didn't even think about the skin irritation.

The bugs seem to love me - and I do occasionally use the Strong DEET stuff - but i also use - All Terrain Herbal Armor. It seems to work really well as for me as while it is active i don't get any bites (whereas normally as soon as i step outside right now and I'll have 1-2 mosquitos hit me within 60 seconds of leaving my car). Only downsides i've run into - it only lasts about 1.5-2hrs then you need to re-apply (but you can just do spots not smear it all over). Upsides - smells a LOT nicer than DEET, I don't have to worry about what chemicals are flying where, and if i accidentally get it on my gear doesn't seem to kill the bite. DEET STINKS and kills your bite if it gets on gear/hands/bait by accident (at least thats what i've found). I know that several studies just came out recently that recommend using lemon eucalyptus oil/repellents - but i haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I do use Permethrin on my camping gear regularly - usually pretreating once or twice a season at home prior to trips - didn't used to but ran into a camping trip where we had pin-head tics everywhere and been a believer since.

I use it for almost all of my yard, pets and garden spray because it is cheaper than the real stuff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrethrin The real stuff is super expensive and actually works much better. It is what is used in Dairy barn automatic spray systems. Safest there is.
From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

Sunsect. Sun screen and insect repellant in one. Works great and no odor to it.

Permethrin is the real deal. I use it for all kinds of things from spraying my trees, spraying around my doors, porch lights, and duck blinds....from Mosquitos to ants.
Buy it in bulk high percentage concentrate from chemical stores and it's cheap. I can make about 300 - 400 gallons with a gallon of 38% concentrate.
If you can either quickly or quietly switch out shells, you can bring home almost anything.

How long does it last on mesquitos when sprayed in the yard? With no rain, probably 2 weeks at least. My wife is allergic to skeeters, welts up pretty bad. We live in an area that the skeeters get like black flies on a horse at times. I spray the yard with a fine mist about every 2 weeks. A person could sit on my porch in a bathing suit and not really think much about Mosquitos. I spray the porch walls and around doors, it's like a forcefield. It's a poison and a repellant I think. It's pretty safe too, unless you're a cat or aquatic life. My fathernlaw sprays it on his dog with no ill effects. Dog is about 12 years old LOL

I hate fire ants. I noticed that I didn't have hills where I sprayed for skeeters. Outside of that perimeter, hills are everywhere. That's what made me really like the stuff.....
