I am planning to go camping at Caddo State Park in a week or two. I will be fishing in the Mill Pond area by the tent sites. Has anyone ever fished for catfish in this area? There are lots of Cypress trees for the cats to lay around... any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks...

I'm interested in the same thing and will be there around the same time. I'm taking my ultralight gear and the kayak.

I have an old 14' aluminum with a 40 lb. minn kota. We will have to try to look each other up Bob Landry. Have you reserved a site yet?

I camped out there a couple years ago, it poured down rain so I didn't get to do much fishing but I think if you get up in the slough connected to the pond area you may have some luck. You can rent canoes from the bait house there.

I have a reservation, but they won't let you reserve a specific site, so I don't know which one I'll get. Never been to that park before, so I guess it really doesn't matter.
I did read on the website that the boat ramp is closed because of high water, but they are renting canoes. The wife and I are taking the yaks, so that may be my fishing boat for the week..LOL
