Yep, seen that done that Monday when I shredded my trailer tire on Loop 820. Had one of those trailer jacks and it worked like it was suppose to. I carry one on every fishing trip, like you all said, not if but when. My prob. is tires, in 11 years I have gone thru 4 sets of tires (single axle).
I don't as a rule put a lot of miles on my rig. Everyone of them had tread separation, but this is the first time one has blown out and shredded. Usually I catch them before hand and get the tire swapped out with a new one. Man at Goodyear said 50 psi was too much (13 inchers), 45 lbs was correct as 50 psi was MAX psi. Anyone else want to weigh in on this issue. Also, have had three different brand tires so it wasn't just a single brand other than the first two sets were bias ply and my last set were radials. Thnks for putting up with long thread.

I carry a 3x5 piece of carpet rolled up in the truck. Comes in handy if you have to work on hot or wet asphalt!

I carry a 4 way and a few blocks and bricks,once I drove home on 3 just took the flat one off and was back on the road.My wheel was only 3 or 4" off the road though works in a pinch
