My nephew is in town from Alabama for a few days, he has Autism, but absolutely loves to go fishing, he's a good kid. I'm just trying to find out what lakes in ETEX have been better for numbers recently if anyone has any advice. I'm wanting to put him on some fish and he doesn't care about size, just getting bit. His dad back home doesn't fish, so he rarely gets to get out on the water. Any advice you can give will be greatly appreciated as I have not fished much lately at all due to working so much. Thanks guys.

Go to Athens. Throw topwater on points in the AM. Fish a wacky worm the rest of the day on the same points and main lake docks.

Cypress Springs around the main lake docks on the south side. Lots of 1 pound spotted bass on each dock corner

White and spots are stacked on Raybrun right now and super easy to find on the graph. We fished yesterday and boated 19 small LMB in the morning and then did a little vertical fishing for whites and spots.

If I was heading out in the morning to get a tug on the line, I'd have to pick Athens.

Athens:
5:30am--7:30am this morning; buzz baits & frogs over the weed beds. A strike on almost every cast. It was quite fun. Once the sun got up real good they stopped. I guess with the moon and clear skies last night I got them right at the end of their feeding time.
I would still put Athens up against any lake (well maybe Toledo Bend) for consistent numbers and size.
