I kind of find this site to be a bummer...when I read how few stockings are being made on most of our lakes. Poor old Lavon just gets told to take a cold tater and wait.

If you are bummed out by the stocking report think of us poor fishermen who do not like to fish for bass or 6 inch long channel cats. There has been no significant restocking of most other species in years.

I was wondering about Lake Bastrop (we plan to go to the North LCRA park to fish on our next trip). It hasn't been stocked with anything since 1992 (channel cats in 1997)

Read the lake survey.

Thanks. I didn't know about those reports. I got an answer from DeJesus of TPW..."There has been no need to stock the lake because is sustains itself naturally." Did notice in the report they didn't get any large mouth bass 21" or bigger & they want folks to harvest the under 14" (signs at cleaning tables----if I read it right).

That signage comment is interesting. The biologists, I think same ones, say the problems at Fayette are related to catch and release working too well and that unders should be retained and removed from the lake. But they don't suggest putting up any signs.

As far as planned stockings, the only way i have found out is go the inland fishing districts facebook page and message them directly. The bilogist will message you back and tell u if they plan to stock or not.
