Not exactly about bass fishing, but I'm still laughing.

We live on a lake and the bull rushes and alligator weeds have grown up in front the house. The wife and I decided to spray it with Rodeo and I was running the trolling motor while she sprayed from the back deck.

Somehow, she lost her balance and fell face forward into the water, screaming like a banshee. The water was only a couple of feet deep, but filled with moss, alligator weed and rushes. She immediately popped to the surface, blaming ME. She claimed that something I was doing with the TM caused her to lose her balance. Needless to say, she was mad and wouldn't even let me help her back into the boat. She trudged off to the pier and got up on it.

The thing that made her mad was that I laughed. I mean, how do you not laugh at that when the last thing you see are legs flailing, accompanied by a scream that is cut short? I told her something about wishing I had a camera and that only made her madder.

Anyway, she finally got back in the boat and we finished, although she stood in the bottom of the boat the rest of the time. The funny thing was that as we continued down the line of weeds, a 2-3' water snake crawled out of the reeds - which she saw and panicked again.

She still gets mad when we're talking and it suddenly reoccurs to me and I bust out laughing. She just doesn't see the humor in it. She's 64 and doesn't go swimming much anymore.

Hilarious... reminds me of time when I got bucked off a horse, and my dad died laughing, while I was checking for broken bones. He knew I was okay, and got the biggest kick out it.

It's funny, if only she could see video of it.

I'm going to assume, since you posted about applying a herbicide in a public waterway, that you had written approval from Cherokee Water, SRA and TCEQ. How hard was that to get approved?

My girl always gets mad when I laugh about things like that. It's how guys grow up I think. We always laugh at friends getting hurt.

Great story, ( always someone busting on a good story ie. a couple post up ) got to love a good laugh at the wife, it usually the opposite. Mine laughed a me yesterday after stumping my toe on a big rock while wearing flip flops and sad thing is I knew she was laughing before even looking up!

Save it, pal. It's not a public waterway and we have approval from the lake authorities.

Ok, I have one. My wife was calling me from the guest bedroom asking for nail polish remover. I walked in and (don't ask me how) found her fingers super glued to the little plastic thing at the end of the strings on the window shade. Instead of getting the polish remover I went and got the camera. If I can find that picture, consider it posted.

Great story!

I have one sort of similar. Was fishing with dad early February on Fork one day and hadn't got a bite all day long fishing creek channels back in the coves. Finally decide to hit the corner of a bridge on the way back to the ramp just for grins. One hits my jig and I set the hook and it felt like a monster. I fought him for like 7-8 seconds and then suddenly my 50 pound braid just snaps in half. I was ticked as all get out thinking about a big bridge pre-spawn fat girl on Fork getting lost, but tied a new $4 jig and $1 trailer on (I'm a cheapskate), flip it out to the bridge and the line cuts in half during my cast and the jig goes sinking to the bottom. I turned around to look at the back of the boat and my dad was about to fall out he was laughing so hard. Turns out I had a broken rod guide that was cutting my braid. I still get mad when I think about it and he still laughs.
