I like to take my kiddos kayaking with me and this one looks great. It's hull weight to load capacity ratio is the best I've seen. Anyone demoed it?

All manufactures "fudge" thier numbers and Malibu may be the worst. I'm sure it weighs more than #48, probably more like #55-60. Although it may hold #500 without sinking,in reality, I would guesstimate #400 being the most one would want to paddle in an 11' kayak given it's width.

I have Malibu's xfactor. The bottoms look simular but I have yet to test the Trio out.
If they r the same on bottom it should be nice n stable and relatively fast. I can say those deep v bottoms R designed
4 open water not creeks n rivers. These 2 yaks would handle ruff water well due to rocker, weight capacities
& low seating.
Wondering if a high/low seat is coming from Maibu?

I almost bought one before I bought my present kayak. I really like the weight and stability of these kayaks. They aren't real responsive trying to turn them because of the V hull but they do track great.
That seat or lack there of was the deal breaker for me. I'm a little surprised that they haven't joined the high seat trend as these kayaks would perform well with them.

Thanks for the feedback. I have seen some Malibu youtube mods regarding elevating a seat. Agree, a slightly elevated seating option from the manufacturer would be nice. It's on the short list for joining my armada.

It's kind of a longer Mini-X and the Mini is a very popular kayak and why you don't see many if at all in the classifieds. People keep them because they are so handy and don't take up a lot of space. Easy to throw into the truck or mini van and head for the lake or creek for a couple of hours.
