This morning at 6:00AM I went to a local park pond. It was a beautiful morning under a full moon. There was no wind, but the water was an ugly chocolate brown color.

The bluegills were nowhere to be found. I did catch a few tiny ones. That pond was last stocked with bluegill in 2002, and the sunfishing is usually poor. I am told it was very good at one time.

I caught bullheads, turtles and tiny Bluegills. I also saw a very unusual water bird with odd facial markings.

I don't like fishing in muddy water but lately that is all we got. Things are starting to clear up and conditions are improving each day. It will only get better! thumb

Side Note: At least you got out there and caught a few fish. Nicely done. cheers

Thanks for the ID. I have never seen one before. It was quite unafraid, and came within 10 feet of where I was standing.

Usually do their hunting at night and stay bedded in tight cover during the day. I would assume fishing is tough for him too with the muddy water at night, so he was trying in the early morning.
