I just inherited a nice Skeeter with a Yamaha VMax. Unfortunately, it has been sitting in storage for over a year and I don't think Sta-Bil was used in the gas tank.

I would just like to get everyone's thoughts on how I should go about preparing this boat to get back on the water.

Thanks!!

Pump out the old fuel because Stabil will not work for more than about 45 days. Put a can of Sea Foam in the new fuel. I would change the water pump impeller and lower oil. Pull the sparkplugs and squirt a little Kreep, 2cycle oil or Marvel Mystery oil in each cylinder before starting. Charge, check and clean all battery`s. Visually inspect all fuel and oil hoses.

First off drain gas and put in fresh fuel with some kind of fuel treatment such as Seafoam. Change all filters, change lower unit grease, new plugs, fog cylinders, change water pump, check batteries and charge, fill oil tank and probably more that I can't think of right now.
