I've always wanted to try tawakoni or cooper lake. Any ideas on other good hybrid lakes? Wanting to try something different. Thanks for the suggestions!

Cedar creek?

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

CC and Richland Chambers are both easy drives from Midlo and both are good hybrid lakes. Personally, I like CC best after Twok.

Best hybrid lake seems to change almost yearly. I would say Hubbard and Tawok are most consistent year after year. I do not fish CC or Richland so I cannot comment on them. I remember a time when Proctor was one of the best. I use to fish Lewisville a lot but I would never have put it on the top of the list.

CC and Richland Chambers are nice. At CC you will weed through lots of sand bass. If you are only chasing hybrid its annoying, but hey, that's fishing. Richland Chambers has great numbers but there are tons of 16-17" fish right now. Again, that's fishing. Cedar Creek in my opinion is easier to locate the fish quickly. At Richland Chambers I can usually get out the sand bass once I locate the better fish. Both are great.

Cedar Creek,Cooper or tawakoni. There are no hybrid in Hubbard so don't waste your time roflmao roflmao bolt

On a serious note. There are Hybrid in Hubbard but it is not that easy to find them. ( at least for me ) I look at it this way, I go fish for Sand bass and if i get a Hybrid or two i consider it a bonus smile
The lakes i listed above have a good population of Hybrid and IMO there would be a better chance to get one there ( a bonus ) smile thumb

Thanks guys! Ideally I'd like to get a good combination of size and numbers. Not looking for a trophy but catch plenty of white bass around here at joe pool and looking for something a little bigger.

taking a fishing trip with my dad in a few weeks and looking to go somewhere different. Cooper sounds very interesting and maybe not fished as heavy. But Tawakoni sure gets a lot of talk on here too!

Cedar Creek Lake. Tawakoni was like a bowl, easy picking, but now with the Sabine river branches over flow their banks, even big yellow bass seem to have left main lake. It's dings fest from now until. .. the Sabine river starts to recede .

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Cooper and Tawakoni are both great lakes for hybrid fishing.

Tawakoni is fairly crowded with folks from far and wide traveling there to enjoy the awesomw fishing.

Cooper might have 10 boats on a busy week-end.

It ain't easy making it look easy.

Not really, it is an awesome fishery, tons of shad and good areas for them to spawn and get bigger.
Between the LTSA and Texas Parks and Wildlife the lake is very well stocked.

There are a lot of folks fishing there but that doesn't mean they are all catching big fish or big numbers.
