just wonder how long it will take this high water to get out of here and the lake to open again to boats?

The people as Scott's Landing told me that all the roads around the lake are at least partially flooded. City of Grapevine told them that it would be at least 15 days after the roads are dry before they can reopen the roads. Not sure how long on the ramps.

In 2006 when Lewisville went over the spillway all ramps were closed in June and didn't open until sometime in August. I think that was the case for Grapevine and Ray Roberts.

I'm with hawghoover. It is a nice service the marina is providing to shuttle people to the boats but it seems like a PITA. At this point I don't even care if I can go out on the water. Just want to go out to the boat, drop a line and maybe crack a cold one.

Yup and when Grapevine went 20 feet high back in 2007 it stayed closed most of the summer. It's going to take a while for the lake to down. I was out on the lake in my brothers boat on Saturday and it's crazy to see all of the stuff under water and the HUGE trees drifting out on the main lake. He has 49 feet of water under his slip right now. Unreal.

I would expect it to be back to normal and the fishing to be ok in August at the earliest. Its going to take them a pretty good while to draw that lake back down. This is also considering we have a dry summer.

Hawg, I understand what you are saying, but this is a freakishly rainy spring. I think the marinas will be okay for the most part.

It was 535.95 this morning. Let's hope they open it back up.

According to the City of Grapevine, the lake is open:
https://www.facebook.com/CityOfGrapevine?fref=ts

I checked Corp of Engineers website and there is no closure notice. I tried calling Silverlake to see if they are open but I didn't get an answer. Might try to launch there tomorrow.

Sorry if you built your house way too close to a lake, within the 100 year flood plain.
