I'm trying to teach myself to use nothing but the Bubba Blade, but these American Angler knives are hard to beat as far as electric knives go...

Bubba Blade works OK for crappie and smaller sand bass. Not so much on larger fish.

I watched a guide rip through several striper last time out! He told me that it was the best knife he'd found for big fish.

I learned in 1982 to fillet fish with an electric knife. The Guide I was fishing with at the time said you could spend lots of money on a knife, but a $20 Black and Decker will do the same or better job. I have had the Angler and Rapala knives and neither one did the job as good as B & D. You laugh if you want, but I have a Bubba Blade in my knife box and tried it on a 8# striper and put it up.

+1 on the Black & Decker. I have been using them for many years. They do fine for me.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
