My Mercury EFI 225 pop a fuse today while idling away from the ramp, this fuse located on the drivers side under the cowl, put in another after I got home started right up. Was this just something that happened or is there a problem developing

Thanks

there is a million things that can cause that. It can happen on random. I would carry an extra fuse with me just in case. It may happen again and have seen where the t-n-t wire to the control handle gets rubbed raw shorting out. Which in turns blows the fuse. There may be a maxium load on the dash wiring that is controlled by that fuse also. Like tach, fuel guage, tnt guage, volt guage, dash lights, depth recorders. If it starts to happen frequently, have a mechanic look to see if you're overloading the system. JMHO
