How's the water at 2859? Muddy are fair for sand bass and hybrids! Was thinking about trying the old road bed tomorrow if water clarity is ok! Any hybrids caught off road bed or just Whites? Thanks for any info!!

Was out yesterday and water clarity is not good. Its better toward the dam. Windsock and 309 was ok. Fishing was ok but has been better. The sandies are easy. The hybrid bite was ok but I ran into a lot of smaller fish. If you are catching white bass and hybrid in the same location, the hybrid tend to be smaller. 2859 is too murky as its fed by Chambers Creek and its pumping too much brown water in.

For the big Hybrids, fish the biggest shad you can catch. I mean up to the 8" plus shad. Windsock isn't always the best for numbers, but that's where I catch the big ones. And the cove on the west side of windsock is a good place to catch some big shad at daybreak. I catch decent fish on a 5" Sassy Shad but the big uns' prefer those big live shad.

Near the dam. The south end. There are two points close to the dam. Out from those points is a road bed that makes a great ledge. You can see in the pic marked by the stars. In this pic you can actually see the ledge by the light shaded area marked with the stars. It shows up good on a good sonar unit with a lake map card. You will see the boats fishing it. Good early and late.

Was at the lake this morning, I tried by the water falls, and winsock I was not able to locate any fish. There were two guides in the area as well, they were having problems catching fish. Went over to the light house at the entrance of the cove there were three boats they were catching fish slabbing. However they were all under size. Went over to 309 where the three islands are (only two are above the water), caught big sand bass and had hybrids hitting as well. All of the hybrids were under size. All were caught trolling. Did not get my limit but had fun catching them sometimes two at a time.

Go to the side of 309 closest to the dam. Since the lake has come up its been pretty good. I catch big fish at Windsock. I fish the windblown, west side, of the ledge. There are a couple spots where the water goes from 35 to 50 fow real sharp. That has been the ticket. I don't go to catch numbers though. The bite there will usually be slower but bigger. The bite was real good before the lake came up and right after. It has slowed some since. I have been catching more sand bass at the old 287 road bed and under 287 bridge. At the south end of the bridge in about 30 fow I have been finding sand bass pretty regular.
