Been kicking around an idea of late this summer maybe finding a location and having a show. Each bait maker or rod maker that wants to attend can have a booth/table set up with their goods and if it is possible maybe even build some items on site. Would love to schedule it in conjunction with a rod building class as well. Do some roundtable like discussions and just have a weekend dedicated to it. Of course vendors could sell baits etc as well. Any real interest out there? We would need 15-20 booths at least to make it worth everyone's effort.

Location? Count me in if it's not too far away. I love to do the one to one shows. Fun time and lots of new friends.

I am looking at roughly 4 weeks to be back in the house, if we could get some interest for mid July I am in. I just need to know how big of a space we need and how long. I agree with mark though probably need 15 or more vendors to make a go of it. I sounds like a fun get together regardless if we sell anything or not.

Guys, keep in mind that if you plan on painting or gluing that might have toxic or hazardous fumes, you might want to keep it outside. I don't think that fire codes would allow it inside a building with out some type of special ventilation or something to insure no accidental sparks or flames. Not trying to bust anyone's bubble... just trying to keep it real. I started thinking about it and remembered we used to do live fly tying at Cabela's once a month and they would set up a space for us. Then I remembered about the paint and thinners, etc.
Life is one big playground. Be sure to ride all the rides before it closes.

I don't see how the airbrush paint would matter, water based. Now some of the sealers and clear coats wouldn't be possible.

I have a few questions guys, trying to secure a space and check availability at the moment. How many square feet would we need? I was thinking 1500-2000 should be enough. I can't get it done for free either, but I think I can get us a retail space in Lewisville for about 600 total for a 3 day friday- sunday. so 20-30 per person for all 3 days. I just need some feedback about what you guys are wanting or would be best.

I would charge at the gate and let the vendors in for free. The more vendors the more attendance. After what I've seen on here, I would love to be able to shop for custom painted lures, swimbaits and rods under one roof. I'd gladly pay a $3-5 admission.

That is something that could be done, I'm just throwing ideas out there to see what the feedback is. Also if anyone had other ideas for a location I'm all for it.

Be even better to find a place such as a tackle or boat shop and then let them run the sales through the register and keep a small percentage. That way the brands that do the best could be added to the store if both sides agreed. At the very least finding a location to keep it free benefits everyone.
