Can you get to Bob Sandlin from Monticello by water?

Only if you hit the dam on Monticello fast enough! :-) Both Monticello and Cypress Springs were impounded long before Bob Sandlin but when Sandlin was impounded it filled up to the other two's dams. Look at it on Google Maps and you can see that only the dams separate the three.

You may be able to fish Monticello & Sandlin by putting in at the Monticello Park. There used to be a ramp that you could launch into Sandlin. Of course you cannot get from Monticello to Sandlin by boat but you can have a choice of the 2 lakes to fish. I have fished both in the same day. If fishing is bad in one simply put the boat back on the trailer, drive about 100 yds and unload the boat into the other lake and start fishing.

That ramp is still open on Sandlin. I checked it out this past weekend (did not launch there as I was fishing a tournament on Monticello).

Even though they are running one and I've seen them run two of the stacks. They have not (the two times I've been there in the past few weeks) been actually generating and power at least no hot water at the discharge. I checked the main lake was 73 and at the discharge it was 73. Maybe that it not always the case but it was the two times I have been there in the last two weeks.

Texas's electrical grid will not function without the Monticello plant running during the summer

Everyone's AC's are cranking up. Unfortunately for me I have always found Monti to be a productive winter lake when the water is warm but I have never been able to pattern the fish very good when it's generating and HOT in the summer. Looks like I'm going to have to adapt, that's the way it's going to be.
