In 2007 it took them a long time to open the ramps at gvine...they gave some kind of excuse about needing the ground under the pavement to dry out. The thing I don't understand is there is water over part of the ramp all the time...and it never seems to bother that part.

So the lake might be open...but I wouldn't be surprised if Twin Points has a lock on it until after labor day.

So what's this weekend on Eagle Mountain looking like? I have a kayak but, would much rather burn gas than calories. What lakes are open that aren't a 2 hr drive? (from EM) other than Lewisville, I don't think you could pay me to get on that lake during a weekend when the sun is out

I spoke with TRWD yesterday and a lady with the flood division said that they would most likely open mid week barring any significant rain.
We will see.
The nice thing is that by the time they let us back on, the lake should be much clearer.

I wondered the same thing. I'm not a pavement/concrete expert but maybe it's a different process for the ramps, or it's just BS.

I went to BB yesterday, just to look. People launching boats. 17 trailers in parking lot. Not as bad as I thought, but you have to put you truck almost in the water to launch. I did not have my boat, and glad I didn;t. I would have done it and not sure it is a good idea to put moma's new truck up to the doors in water. The parking lot is not very steep at all on that side. Guess I will wait until they open EM.

RUFF, I went and launched at Benbrook Sunday morning, my boat drafts really shallow so it wasn't too bad, I saw a few pretty deep V trailers at the launch. Fishing was really tough, 15 feet of water that's normally not there, EM opening cant come soon enough, it is still pretty muddy though

EM opened t 6:00 am this morning. I went to BB and launched yesterday. I had to put truck up to bottom of the doors to unload pontoon. Not bad loading. Did not mark many fish in normal places. but the normal is 15' deeper now. Mostly just ran the boat for an hour. Did some work on it and wanted to make sure it was running ok.
