Going to get Zebra Mussels too....The bad with the good I suppose. As I said some Hybrids will go, but it won't hurt the fishing here. EM guys will get a Hybrid here and there, We will get limits.

I will get them at both lakes!
I can wait until it settles down.
I am just happy to see water back in both lakes!
We will all be better off this year than the past 5 or so. thumb

Yep, the fishing here will be great for years to come. Looking forward to our Sand Bass coming back, now that they will have optimal spawning conditions.

They are already close by in Bridgeport and Benbrook. Besides, the LMB fisherman would have a fit from hell if they were stocked. Also, there are serious Blue Cats in EM. TPWD is always mindful how many Apex predators they have in each lake.

There are plenty of big blue cats in Lewisville as well. I think it is just a matter of a limited supply.

I read one time that bait population is a big concern...but Eagle Mountain has quite a bit of shad.

The thing I don't understand is they closed EM because they said they were concerned about boat wake getting into homes...and yet when it gets into pool they will open it up to all boats...including those 40'+ yachts. Those boats will make a bigger wake at pool than mine would make at 1' over.

Yeah this junk has been going on for years. Managing the lakes is just a side line for their
empire. They really hate having to deal with the lakes for recreation .

Hybrid stocking was suspended here in 2002, the Shad population had crashed hard. Not really familiar with EM's bait situation, but I have always heard it had huge numbers of them.

EM does have huge amounts of shad. Sometimes I wonder if it is out of balance.

If they stocked EM with hybrid fingerlings now, they would have already drawn the lake level back down to a mud hole by the time the hybrids are legal keeper size. So then the hybrids would be competing for forage and water depth. At least BP has a lot of 40' to 60' depths when it is at 25' low. Gives the big ones some where to go in heat of summer and dead of winter. And Keith is right, the LMB fishermen would have a fit after the hybrids ate all their fish for breakfast and supper.
