A friend is determined to be fishing somewhere this weekend and Moss Lake is one option that was mentioned.

Haven't fished the lake in many, many years. I heard there are (2) ramps.

Need your thoughts please! My concern is with the limited number of ramps open are people traveling to Moss Lake - is it chaotic mayhem?

Of course, I'm wondering if any tournaments have been moved to the lake, etc.

Again, thoughts please smile

I thought moss lake was closed because of flooding problems.

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Shaun,

I searched online to see if I could find info related to a closure without success. I might have to call Gainesville tomorrow to see what the status is, unless someone else knows the status of: open or closed.

I called Gainsville last weekend cause I wanted to go fish the lake and they told me the ramps were closed. With the rain we've had this past week I'm sure it's still closed. Sorry to be the messenger of bad news. I would call just to be sure though.

Moss lake has both ramps open, they closed it Memorial Day weekend because of debris. We had our weekend tournament Tuesday and it was just 1' over pool. All of the rain we are getting today and tonight could change that though.

the Gainesville area got hammered on Thursday, and now moss lake is up almost 3 foot from being 1.5 feet high already, the ramps will probably be closed for a day or two, there is an open flood control and the lake drops fast but it will be very dirty as it has not cleared up yet.
