I love the light weight feel of the B&M pole. I wonder how the weight compares to the Pro Angler jig pole.

I use the 12' Buck's Graphite Jig Pole BGJP. You can use it for jigging and trolling. It's a light weight rod.

BnM also makes even lighter weight rods. The Buck's Best Ultra-Lite is a super light weight rod.

Ruffneck, the outstanding difference between the Pro Angler and B'n N poles is the mid sections. Both poles are parabolic (meaning that they bend in an arc from tip to butt), but the mid section of the Pro Angler has a stiffer action. B'n N poles are designed to be used mainly in a shallow water application wherein you don't need a lot of mid section strength (most folks call mid section strength 'backbone', which is a misnomer), opposed to the Pro Angler being designed for deeper water applications, which will generally require more strength to get a good hook set. So if you will be using your poles primarily in Texas, you would probably like the heavier mid section poles (Bonehead, Pro Angler, St. Croix, Falcon, etc) better. But it's really a perference issue. Some like beer and some like whiskey thumb And BTW, a 12' pole is a lot of pole to hold in your hand all day. You might want to consider a 8' or 10' max.

Every B&M pole I have evr had the tip broke on trying to land a large crappie. I will never buy another one. ProAngler rods are the absolute best buy for the money. Bonehead are nice too but way to pricey for my budget.
