Only if money is on the line, or my kids, or grandkids are fishing..

I keep one in the boat because no one wants their personal best to get away while they're trying to grab it with their hands...

Here in Texas, you (or someone with you) could hook that personal best on any given cast...

I keep it out always, and use only on decent and big fish. I would hate to loose a big fish to not having a net.

Every fish in team tournaments. By myself--only DDs on 12lb test or less.

I net every bass that appears to be over 3 lbs.

Therefore, I don't use it very often, and have yet to use it on Alan Henry.

Nets only get in my way so I don't even have one, but don't fish tournaments either. if they are meant to be caught they will make it in the boat if they get off that's ok, I turn them loose anyway so fighting them till they get to the boat and hopefully seeing them before they get off.

I've had 2 bass netted in my life. One was an 11 that was tail hooked with a deep crank (no lie dead serious) and the other was a 10 that I caught with my grandfather. He did not feel comfortable lipping it so I told him grab net. Otherwise it just sits in rod box incase hook a giant catfish or something. Happened a few times.

I've never picked up a net much less use one to land a fish. Landing it by hand is all a part of it to me. In my 34 years I've never lost a fish due to not using a net

I hate them. I only use them if someone else insists.

flipping fish in the boat (IMO) is not good for the fish. Lippin fish is OK at the water with single hooks, if you're not using
treble hooks. I guess I want to take care of the fish, both there jaws, protective coating, and not getting hurt bounching around in the bottom of the boat. Most of all if you every buried a DD22 in the palm of your hand (2 hooks) you'll know why one of the first thing we do in my boat is "get the net"//

Anything over 4 and I will usually grab the net. Not sure when using a landing net became the "uncool" thing to do.... I use a net and don't have a power pole, I guess I don't know what I am doing.

i don't recall anyone saying anything about cool or uncool. It's a question and I only saw people's opinion.

I fish alone most of the time, and still use a net for every bass I think will go over 5. I've lost way too many big bass at the boat reaching to lip them.
