I drove by the bridge below the dam at the Rochelle canoe rental and the river was rolling. The Hwy 16 bridge right below dam was blocked off. I'm sure flood gates are open. All launches are open except scenic point. Water very muddy even at dam

PK releasing at 17,700 CFS. Granbury releasing at 25,100. Must be expecting a big and fast rise.

You can tell by the graph at the USGS site that they are definitely releasing water. The lake level has fallen almost 9 inches since early this morning.

B.R.A. can't stand the lake being full,so this is what we get! Wonder if this counts as water sold to the rice farmers? ;-)

I know it's not an exact science but I live on the Brazos here outside Glen Rose and you ought to see the water being released by Granbury! It's in response to PK's release. The amazing thing to me is why these releases from PK didn't start earlier and less aggressively. I was @ PK over Memorial weekend and the lake was a foot or two short of full and they were releasing almost zero despite the flood I saw on the Brazos above the lake(Graham). Seem like the proactive thing would have been to start lesser releases earlier instead of waiting until now and releasing enough to affect the downstream homes with your initial releases. Remember, PK is still not above full so it seems less critical to release too much right now. As said I understand its not an exact science and easy to "armchair quarterback" after the fact but I wish people would check with me before they do something stupid. :-)
