Whole lake is now chocolate milk colored and the flood gates are open closing HWY 16. The water is going over the bridge again.

USACOE does not list PK flood pool on the web site. Current elevation is 998.97. Conservation Pool is 1000.00. So it is -1.03 below pool. They are releasing water at 17,700 CFS. Granbury is releasing water at 25,100 CFS. Must be expecting a big rise.

I was out there over the weekend and I believe all the ramps were open. I put in at the state park and the water was stained with about 1 1/2 feet of visibility.

I read a post on facebook from the BRA and they measure PK at full pool at 999' because 1000' is the top of the flood gates. The flood gates at PK are manually operated and are either open or closed, there is no control on the height the gate is open from my understanding. The BRA needs to have some time to open the gates before the water goes over the top.

I'm sure glad to see the lake finally come up; we've had a place at Sky Camp for 13 years. Stuck with it through the golden algae attacks, tornados and NO WATER. Hopefully this brings our lake back to what it used to be. We were planning on coming out this weekend; but not sure how good the cat fishing would be at the mouth of the river with all this flooding going on.

Catfish might be all you could catch. Doubt anything could see in this water. I see sandbass hitting in Neely Slough where I am. Maybe topwtaer is the deal. Here's some pic's of the lake from yesterday:
