I used this ramp last Thursday and it was $10. I just called them to see if it was still open. It is open and now they are charging $20 to use it. That is ridiculous just because you have the only ramp on the lake doesn't mean you have to screw people. Needless to say I wont be fishing grapevine until another ramp is accessible.

Yeah but that's still ridiculous. Not worth my $20 for a couple hours in the evening.

They were the only ones who invested in a long ramp. Honestly I'm considering going out there right now

Considering its one of the only open ramps in the entire metroplex $20 is a bargain IMO.

Funny. A logical, economic reason was given to you, but it's still ridiculous to you. Then don't go & use it. That's the beauty of free market capitalism. If enough of others share your sentiment, the market will correct itself.

I think we're all just getting a little tired of not being able to launch our boats where we usually do and need to rant a little from time to time.

I have no doubt that Silverlake will get plenty of business at $20, but I probably won't be going there either.

Funny nobody complains about the $30 launch fee at Squaw though.

It is $30 to launch at Squaw Creek and you have to call and get in line to fish it. It is costly for just a couple of hours but if you love it and want to fish close to home, sounds like it will cost you for a while. Ray Bob is going to be closed for several months I am sure. I will be breaking out my Hobie Outback tomorrow!

See you on the lake and have a great day!

He has a little right to complain...I think one company owns all three marinas on Gvine now. It is kind of a government sponsored monopoly. It isn't like he can go and buy or lease some land and dig a ramp and start charging people $8 to launch. He could never get the permits.

Personally, I think you would be better off finding somewhere else to fish. The lake is messed up the right now.

it's an unfortunate circumstance, and if it's true that the same company owns all the marinas then maybe they can use the revenue from the $20 high water ramp to repair the rest of their facilities faster once the flood recedes
