The people who run that place are grade A scumbags. Seriously.

I might be in the minority, but I wish we didn't have marinas at all on our local lakes. I personally think it would be great if Grapevine and Lewisville didn't have 30'+ yachts on them. They just kind of ruin the natural landscape...in my opinion.

I might clarify that although they company in question does have a monopoly on marinas at grapevine, they don't have monopoly on boat ramps...at least not a long term one. The City of Grapevine has done a lot in recent years to improve their ramps and has kept ramp fees comparatively low.

Until the city ramps open back up I suggest a road trip. That is what I am planning this weekend.

Yes, one company owns all 3 marinas on Lake Grapevine. It has been that way for years. As far as the Silver Lake boat ramp goes, it is a steep road going down to a boat ramp. They are launching off the steep road, not the ramp.

I wonder if some wake board boats will launch this weekend and take their chances with the floating logs.

Look at it this way ....for 20 bucks you can have the opportunity to put your boat in the water and have a chance to run into, over or thru floaters,
picnic tables, metal pipes, playground equipment, possible propane tank or two, not to mention submerged poles lining a road, or even run upon
a concrete or blacktop road, sound like fun to me

You guys go for it, think I'll sit this one out

I think most of the floaters "floated" down about two weeks ago...they tend to come on the first big rain after a drought. With that in mind, I wouldn't go fishing at gvine right now even if there were more ramps open...all that water has got it funked up right now.
