What rod are y'all using for 10xd crankbaits? I'm looking at a Quantum KVD cranking 7' 11" Heavy. Not great reviews for it but it's on sale for $99. I know Dobyns make a good one but I don't want to spend that much. What's a good rod in the $150 and under range?

St Croix Mojo 7'8" MHM. $125ish at bps and worth every penny...

I have mine paired with Abu Garcia 5.4:1 Winch. Makes cranking those deep baits a breeze!

Spend it, Dobyns 806 If you want a rod with a little more versatility go with the Dobyns 805 RM. The 805 is good from 6xd and DD22's to 10xd.

While I agree the Dobyns rods are nice the 805 RM is not the ticket to sling 10XD's. The rod is up to 1 1/2 ounces and the 10XD weighs almost 2 oz. I have the exact model and tried throwing the 10XD, was like trying to cast a brick, rod was over loaded and couldn't get any distance on the casts.

I have a Duckett micro pro crankin' 7'11" paired with an Abu Winch and it will sling a 10xd. No fighting the bait back either. I fish this all day.

I haven't had any problems casting the 10XD on the Dobyns 805 and I can launch it a long way using 15 pound test Invizx with a Lews BB1 reel.

I know Okuma doesn't get mentioned much, but seriously, look into the Okuma Scott Martin series TCS "Power Crank" rod. I have one and just ordered two more, no joke. You will love it for DEEP diving cranks.

I was always taught glass is the way to go when throwing cranks. I don't have this rod but I've used it plenty of times and it is really nice. Definitely plan on picking one up.

Some people like glass rods for cranking and some like graphite. I personally like the graphite ones that are made for cranking. I have better feel with a graphite rod, but it is all personal preference.

I use a phenix 7'4" glass Rod. 8-17 lb. 1/4 to 2oz. This will fling a 10xd or a dd22

Let Me know if you want one!
