On my last trip out I was fishing a small lake and had an alarm go off when I was idling across the lake. It started as a sporadic beep and then turned into a constant alarm. Boat has Oil and it is pumping water. I checked the oil reservoir and it is full of oil.
On a side note....2-3 trips ago I noticed a hissing sound while I was idling. The sound would go away when I turned for some reason. (I sounded like a tire with a leak). I'm not sure if this is related.

What all will these boats alarm for. Just before the alarm the boat was running like a dream. It still idles really smooth and had no issue while running wide open.
Any ideas?

On a EFI you have three alarms, solid horn is overheat intermediate beeps can be low oil, or water in fuel if it is water in fuel you will have a flashing red light at the front of engine but you have to remove the cowling to see the red light it will flash every time the warning sounds.....OPTI

Being full of oil may mean that it is not pumping....cost me a couple grand to get mine fixed because I kept running it.....

On my last trip out I was fishing a small lake and had an alarm go off when I was idling across the lake. It started as a sporadic beep "oil warning" Was the motor reservoir full? The oil cap sensor is known to go bad on these motors. Check for oil pump turning these motors are know for striping the drive gear Check the screen in the main oil tank. and then turned into a constant alarm "over heat alarm" impeller, poppet assembly or thermostat. Boat has Oil and it is pumping water. I checked the oil reservoir and it is full of oil.

(I sounded like a tire with a leak). I'm not sure if this is related.

So does anybody have an idea what the "hissing" sound could be while it is idling? I'm going to service the entire lower unit and hook it up to the "fake a lake" and see how that goes...

those type sounds are really hard ta track down especially when its ona hose... best ta have it
in tha water so tha exhaust gets muffled some.. is tha "goes away" part when ya turn it in either direction or just one direction?... cowl on or off?.. constant or oscillating hiss?

Did you check the hoses from the main oil tank? Those and bleed valve hoses can crack.
