Last year when all the hype was on the deep bite no one was talking about how crazy the frog bit was. This year with all the flooded cover its a no brainer to chunk one and they have seen 1000s by now.... grin

The big swimbait bite was even better shallow, Mark. Unfortunately, the severe thunderstorms the night before day 1 in 2014 blew that shallow deal all to heck. That's why the deep water guys shined so well last year, IMO.

Here's an interesting recap of how the top 5 caught them last week. Only one fished shallow, Chris Lane.

KVD's deep bite died. Looks like he got Forked to. A lot of us are in good company.

Poor David Smith, that's prolly the only win he's got. Bless his heart, he keeps pulgging away..
Hurleys, and the mouth of Ray branch long lining I think was the deal.. We watched them, Maxwell was a camera boat. The rings they got are nice looking too..

KJ's team caught some at Hurley's and some at RB, but 95% came off the pump house. That spot has never been the same. A couple young guides were camera boats on Kelly and David W.

Pressure, slot, sandbass, and low water, have hurt this lake over the years.Glad I had an opportunity to fish it in the 80's prior to LBV.I wish they would drop the slot, its time! Historic fishery for sure, but there's better choices out there now!

With the high water, spawn, reduced bed fishing this spring and great baitfish populations Lake Fork will be off the charts in four to five years. Ask James at Falcon Lake what happened after a prolonged drought, then filling and a couple year classes of spawners grew up.

The other blessing is that all of the N.TX. lakes that the metromess pulls from are full or over full. This should give Fork a reprieve from Dallas pulling water. The orginal plan was not to pull from Fork before 2025 but the severe drought changed those plans for Dallas.

If Fork can remain fairly stable over the next few years, look out!

Them TVA lakes take 90-100 lbs for a 3 day elite or flw event? I dont remember seeing that anytime. Even Paul Elias and the then new A-Rig on guntersville was just over 100 lbs for 4 days.

You can step out onto the ball field and hit a few, but when Miguel Cabrera steps in the box there is a different result compared to what you did. Same deal here. Don't compare yourself to a professional if you are not one.

Didn't read the whole thing. Don't care. But fork does not fish tough. I catch more fish here than anywhere else.
