Well fork broke my heart today , she weighed I'm guessing 12-14lbs possible lunker she jumped and jumped after fighting her for awhile she finally came to the boat and looked tired while I was grabbing the net and handling the net with one arm, she decided she wanted to a do a sudden nose dive underneath the boat and her last words I heard was TINK! And she was gone.

Man that is a heart breaker. Like others said at least you got to see her but I know that may just make it worse. I would be sick for sure.

I know your pain! I had the same thing and it haunted me for months. Every time I would close my eyes I would see her silver dollar eyes.

Once at rayburn one evening I took our little girl and my old lady out to a place where it was either kentuckies or big ones. My girlfriend hung a fish and as normal it was taking drag. She only uses spin cast so it doesn't take much to take drag. The fish rolls on the surface and she says its huge but it looked like a catfish rolling around so I didn't pay much attention. She finally gets it close and a bass around 12lbs rolls up on its side and I wasn't ready. It dove back down by the time I had the net and one last jump spit the hook. I still feel bad about that. The only thing that saved me was she caught a 7 on the next cast.

I also had a huge one that I lost at the boat on Friday. At least we got to see her.
