Ok guys we got another hell of a rain last night which the line of thunderstorms stretch pretty far across the state. They were talking that Uvalde and Leaky where the Frio runs threw, could get anywhere from 2 to 4 more inches of rain. Anyways, if this is the case for which you guys are talking about the release of water already out of choke, wow like Jimbo said very very sad scenario. Poor Choke will never fill up. frown

Don't mean to be negative about the subject, but I have lived on the lake since the early 70's, and the locals started several drives to find out what the hell the deal was concerning lake levels. We formed committees and hired attorneys. Every agency you can think of was petitioned including TNRCC, Texas RRC, City of Corpus and several others, all to no avail. What we did find out is your not gonna beat "city hall". As I have said before on this forum, Lake Corpus is just a profit center for the city of Corpus, they sale most of the water that comes out of Mathis Lake. Corpus gets most of its water via the pipe line from Lake Texana. All politics.

I hate to burst y'alls conspiracy theory bubble, but releasing 1000 CFS for a day, or even several days at a time, would have basically no effect on the lake level. Not enough water.

The reason it's not going up right now is bc not enough water coming in, not bc of the releases.

Cracker, if you would pull up both graphs ( the lake elevation graph and the dam discharge graph) you would see an instant connection. Unless both water moniter stations read incorrectly.

There should be zero water coming out of choke with the way the Atascosa has flowed.
