Well with Joe Pool nearly 10ft high and most ramps off llimits I decided to go have some fun with my son and Brian from www.lilypadjigs.com somewhere else. Left the house at 3:00 am and the plan was to go to Tawakoni for hybrids. Well wind looked like it was going to blow hard so changed the plans changed last minute and decided to go to C.C. Caught a mix of gizzards and smaller threadfin in the dark. Then at Sun up we setup on the south end of the lake and set the I-pilot on anchor and caught fish from daylight till noon non-stop. Stayed in the same spot all day. The bigger hybrids were enjoying the 4" gizzards and the smaller fish were hitting the smaller threads. At 9:00 we ran out of bait and headed to a spot I've caught good gizzards before during the daylight. Didn't worry about the smaller threadfin and loded up with some more big gizzards. We were planning on keeping a few for a fish fry but mostly catch and release. We ended the day with 6 keeper hybrid and a few of the bigger Sandies. Threw a few keeper hybrid back that were slightly over 18" and a lot in the 15"-17" and 12"-14" range , also some yellows, cats and Sandies. Seen some people keeping the smaller hybrids so if anyone that is reading this that is not sure how to identify the smaller hybrids please do some research and if your not sure then throw them back. Big fish of the days was 7.13lbs

Nice catch.

How do you tell a 4" gizzard from a 4" threadthin?

Been wanting to fish this Lake for awhile. Chambers had been really good but I'm headed to CCL in the morning. Hopefully it doesn't rain.

_
The slimy one is the gizzard. The thread fin has a bluish spot and the gizzard has a black spot. The thread fin has a narrow head and the gizzard has a wide head with an under slung mouth.
