Tried out a new pond with a fishing bud since my normal go to spot was flooded. It was ducked off so I just new it was full of big bullgills especially with it being around spawning time. Well was I WRONG!!! Biggest fish caught was about 4 inches or so but check out my catch of the day(not sure why pic turned sideways):

Keep looking. I am sure there is a pond near you. It looks like Joe Pool will be up a while so you need an alternate.

Have you tried Lakeside Park in Duncanville or Mesquite City Lake? They are the designated Community Lakes for your area, so they get stocked.

I love exploring new places. I have been doing a great deal of that lately. All the dry creeks have been full of water since the beginning of the year so I'm finding all kind of new places to explore. The longer they flow the more fish seem to be drawn up from the rivers. And they are getting bigger.

And I love pond fishing thumb

Thanks for the report.
