Met Robert (OldCoach) for a day of fishing on Cedar Creek. Launched at Log Cabin and was disappointed at how murky the water was. We weren't sure how it would be with high water and holiday weekend. Checked two places before getting to the first and last place we stopped, west dam hump, water was alot clearer here. First fish - 21" hybrid, unfortunately the only legal hybrid caught. We slabbed up fish after fish for hours and didn't move much at all from the West side of the dam. Biggest majority of fish caught were 14-17" hybrid. If you are catching fish on CC be very careful of what you keep. There are a ton of under hybrids and they are extra hungry. We caught 4-5 cats, 15-20 yellows and the rest were hybrids and sandies. The total for the day was 244 on the clicker.
Rob caught many doubles and we both had fish on at the same time a lot. As usual I had to try different slabs to see what worked best, today it didn't matter, all sizes, color, weight, & shapes all caught fish.

I launched at Caney and 1.5 miles from the ramp my steering cable broke. Missed out a good day of fishing. Oh well.. Going to order a SeaStar hydraulic steering setup. No more cables... You guys killed them...

Forgot to mention that we did see surfacing 2 times but it only lasted for 10-15 minutes.

Steve, what a day of fishing . That is the longest (from 6:40 until 1:30 )that we have ever stayed in one spot and the fish just consistantly continued to bite.............in fact we left them biting at 1:30.Made it home without running into a rain storm.
