I'm about to pull the trigger on a ranger z119. The standard trailer is a single axle trailer. The lakes I normally fish are within 10 miles of my house. Once or twice a year I travel about 200 miles. I'm debating upgrading to a tandem if it's needed but I thought I would get everyone's 2 cents before I made the decision on getting the upgrade or not. Thanks.

I have a z118 with single axel and I sure wish it was a tandem. G with the tandem. A 519 comes on a tandem and it is the same boat just fancier.

Can't go wrong on a tandem trailer. I've had single axle trailer and I will never have another one. Blowouts on a single axle sucks.

Single. Easier to move around off the vehicle and since the vast majority of your trips are 20 miles you don't need a tandem.

I've had two flats in 30 plus years. I don't have a problem with single axles. I also carry a floor jack in my tool box but I assist others 20 times for every time I need it.

It sounds like you'll need to replace the tires from age before they wear out. A single will easily go 15 thousand miles on a good set of tires. A tandem almost twice that.
