I had Friday off for vacation and went to Ray Hubbard and got my boat out for the first time in 3 months. I was supposed to see John Varner, Jeff Craft , Todd and the Boyer gang out there but the wind was way stronger than the forecast so i stayed on the calmer side of the lake.( go figure the weather man missed it again roflmao ). But i found some fish schooling top water on the non windy side of the lake and they stayed up for 3 or more hours. I caught well over 100 most of them were 8 to 10 inches but i was fishing low below the school and hooked 20 or more 12 to 15 inch big sand bass. Then at 4 pm i went and picked up Fishboy Frank and we tried to find some more fish and Frank ended up getting nine big ones on several humps . Ran into Rockwall Roy and Frank got a hybrid and Roy and Jt were wearing them out on live bait. Good to see you guys today . It was good to get the boat out it still works --LOL--. Sorry John , Jeff ,Todd ,Dr whiplash and ladies man Ray i didn't see you guys. Maybe next time. Here are a bunch of pictures of the catch smile

Here is one of the many smaller sand bass. I also caught about 10 baby hybrids that were nine to ten inches in this school. They must be some of the TPWD stocking they did along with the RHSA fingerlings smile

Sounds like yall had a great day!

I wanted to get out there on the lake today but I figured with so many of the DFW lakes closed due to high water that there would be a double dose of idiots out there today because of that and the holiday weekend.

I ended up just trying to catch some catfish from the rocks. Only caught two keepers though. Still just a tad early for them I think.

Sorry we didn't cross path Keith. But think we heard the whips from your long fly rod, and your laughs and waahoos from the other end of the lake. Yep it was windy and cold, we dressed like deadsticking winter days. It was slow for us besides one nice 6 to 10 pounder by Jeff at the rocks near the red barn, as we pounded the wind blown shores throwing sassys .

Yaffe, water was stained all the way down to the power plant. Ran into two sporadic schools of baby 10 incher hybrids.

Nice PK! It's good to be on the water again, isn't it!
Yucky muddy murky water is all I saw Friday and Saturday.

Nice report Keith! Glad to see all those babies growing up. Hope we start seeing a lot more little ones. That's the future there. Met a few guys out fishing this week. Saw them grab an under hybrid and it was ready to go into the live well. Told them that was an illegal fish and they didn't know the difference. After we explained how you tell the difference and told them about the fines they were very appreciative. Some people just don't know and need help. If you guys are reading this - nice to meet you. Come out and fish with us anytime.
