Gosh, I really love Lone Star Chronicles. I can't recall where or how I stumbled across it. I guess here on TFF.

Bobcats and swimming pigs: two of your recent entries, along with the cool videos, that were among the very best of those with nature themes.

Thanks, Brad. Wish I had more posts like those and less about the fleas 'wildlife.' The worse part is that summer is around the corner, which means I missed the spring fishing because of the Hell house. Gonna fix some of that this weekend. fish

A note on fleas, from an old Biologist: their eggs hatch in waves. So, the exterminator comes out and kills them once, the itchy red spots on your ankles subside, then a week later, they flare up again: more fleas and more flea bites.

Centuries ago, if a castle was unoccupied for a time, the first thing the returning owner would do? Let his dogs run through the house to attract the hungry fleas. Fleas prefer hairier legs than we humans normally have!

Note their body contour is flattened vertically. Why? For running through hair (and the obstacle course it presents).

Your dogs/cats, if you have them, probably won't like you much for doing this, but they'll wick up all of those fleas very quickly! The fleas will lose interest in you pronto.

*** I am not sure I ever saw the video of the pig swim video URL posted here on TFF. If not, it should be. It looks like a Texas version of the great wildebeest migrations and their famous swims across treacherous swollen rivers. In this case, no crocs, just an approaching kayak!

Brad
