It seems that some of the new things on the market today were actually around years ago. I had a Bill Dance split-grip spinning rod 20 years ago. What about micro guides? Are they really a new thing or did someone try these years ago? Every time I look at a bait cast rod with them, I can't help but think that the line needs more of a hole to pass through.

Be safe,
Rayzor

No difference to me , some say it ups sensitivity. One things for sure , don't try to knock down spider webs with a micro guide rod , it will clog the guides up BAD

The only difference I have noticed is my rods are much easier to put in and pull out of the rod box.

This and much harder to thread the line through them.

I don't like the line slap you get when you cast with them.

I love the micro guides, but my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be!

If you use braid with a leader tied onto it you might want to avoid the micro guides.
