is this rain ever going to stop? at twin coves today and water is almost up to gas tank! you have to park at the bicycle lot. dont think any fish got to spawn this year. wonder how this will effect fall fishing.

I'm thinking no parking + all the debris in the water is going to keep us away this weekend.

yesterday before the rain the water was only about 1 foot from coming over the road in the low point curve about 1/2 mile before the right turn to go to the bicycle parking lot.id bet its over the road by now and closed. have to be shuttled over from Silver Lake Marina if you go.think i will just sit this one out at home.

I'm with you. Boat shuttle to my the boat sounds like a PITA. I was looking forward to trying some more of the menu at Rockin S but that'll wait I guess.

I grew up on Grapevine and have seen it go over the spill way several times, we use to go to the parks behind our house by Twin coves marina and drive the old truck through the high water to get to the tables and drink our beer, you didn't have to worry about anyone bothering you and fishing was good! We were the only ones out there no one else could get in but that's been a long time ago, good memories!

Got the email from Twin Coves Marina this AM. Murrell park closing and they will shuttle members by boat in from another marina. Guess water topped the road.

I remember my dad taking me to GV in '57 to see the water going over the spillway. I was 13 yrs old and that was big-time stuff back then. So not if, but when it goes over the spillway this time, everyone ought to try to go and watch the fish going over. A very rare and interesting sight.

And now it's over 20 and a half feet high.

Some of the other lake levels are surprising, too. Bridgeport gained over half a foot overnight, and is now full. Never thought I'd see that this year. Belton gained over 2 feet in the last 24 hours, and is also full. Granger gained over 4 feet overnight. Bardwell is just 30 miles from me and is now over 15 feet high. I have a service call in Gatesville tomorrow. I may take a more northerly route home just to get a look at Bardwell.
