Hello,
I live in Grand Prairie/Mansfield area and I was wondering if there is someone close to me who can repair my Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6600. The reel system is not functioning correctly. It seems like like one of the gears are broken or something because when I try to reel in it would just skip and skip. It works normal if there is nothing heavy to reel in, but I lost a big cat because of it malfunctioning. Please let me know if there is anyone who has any idea to fix it. Thank you!

student, that sounds like your drag is just loose... if it' not binding up then tighten the drag by turning the stAR deal holding the crank handle and turn the drag clockwise if you're looking at it from the side the crank is on if it's a left handed one then it might be counter clock wise to tighten. don't wqnt it so tight that it can't slip though because you want it to slip at about half the amount of the test line you're using and you shouldn't use it at a winch either .. should only view your reel as something to take up the slack and put the pressure on the fish with the rod and then crank down... gotta fight big fish like that anyhow because if your drag is set properly and you get a biggun on you'll just crank and be like just spinning your wheels.
