No waiving the White Flag from me. I know the conditions on many lakes are not good. But somewhere not too far of a drive from my Fort Worth residence, I am going to catch something this weekend. I think I am going to play it safe and fish at one of the community ponds stocked by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. I know this is the crappie forum, and I would love to catch a crappie every time I go fishing. But my gut tells me the crappie I catch tomorrow will have whiskers.
On a serious note if you do go to the lake, river, pond, or stream, everyone please be careful. It never ceases to amaze me how many water related tragedies there are while at or on the water during the warm weather holidays. And that is under normal lake water conditions. Now we have all of the hidden dangers to contend with and more rain expected.
It is not worth losing a life over, our nations Veterans gave us all one of the most treasured qualities of life, the choice to choose to fish another day.
