I'm mainly thinking about when the regular ramps will open back up. Lakes nearest to me are: Grapevine, Lewisville, and Roberts. My guess is that the regular ramps won't reopen before July 1. While I'm happy the lakes are full, this has put a big damper in my Spring fishing plans!

I don't think it will take that long. As long it stops raining soon the lakes will drop pretty quickly.

the watershed for the above lakes are forecasted to get 5 inches over the next 10 days, so that would delay the opening for another 3 weeks even if it were to stop completely. i am optimistically hoping that by 1 aug we will be using all the above lakes plus lavon. there is a lot of water to dump into the trinity from every lake that feeds it except bridgeport. as of today there is almost 1 million acre feet of flood water in the nt lakes that feed into the trinity. that is roughly three trillion gallons of water destined for the gulf.

It took about 45 days in 2007 for most to open back up. It is worse this time so I am thinking mid July.

Not only the forecast, but they keep stopping the release from Lewisville to let water out of Mountain Creek. Plus they are still dumping Roberts into Lewisville.

You can see what COE is releasing here.

That's right. As far as the park ramps, it not just when water goes down, but the asphalt has to dry completely, all trash and debris has to be cleaned up. Piers, walk ways, bath rms, etc, all need to be repaired before they open. I say mid July at best!

I did some pond hopping this morning to get a little water time. Even the small ponds are chocolate milk. This seriously hampered my Spring fishing plans, but maybe Summer will rock.
