I got skunked this winter at Lake Calaveras frown I was thinking most of the fish would be holding in deep water like my home lakes at that time, but all I marked was catfish at every area I checked. I believe the fish head toward the heater (power plant) during the winter months and are out of reach by anglers...

I would like to head back that way to give it another shot. I think the fish have moved back into the main lake and can be caught with slabs and live bait. This lake is hours away from my home, so I will not be fishing it much. I just want to go back and try to redeem myself. Can anyone give me a few pointers or areas to try this time of year on the main lake? I don't feel comfy docking my boat on the crappie wall in the wind, so main lake areas are preferred.

Thanks!
