Someone... I don't know who ... angel ... took these about 1:45 this afternoon. If the 2"-3" forecast to come all over North Texas between now & Sunday night holds true, I'd have to think it'll go over.

Does anyone know if Ray Roberts' spillway is topped? That would have a huge effect. If both top, there's nothing but the levees to hold back any water from the Trinity through the metroplex. I've personally seen vast slabs of those levees wash down.

Surprised the News buffoons aren't fear-mongering this story, since this is one story that actually DOES have a chance to be really friggin bad.

Wow, I take the general public can't access this point.
I see that the level of Ray Roberts is above the flood pool by a foot, so I would guess it is going over the spillway?

That would be my assumption too but nothing in the news. Strange.

This does have epic written all over it, remember they kinda guessed a lot when they built these dams and the impact down stream, I would be very scared if we are talking about a situation where Roberts is going to overflow its spillway feeding an already high LL almost hitting its spillway too, they say 2.75 to 5 inches starting now till Monday, remember the down stream areas looked vastly different then when they built and planned for flooding, than they do now, I would say the area has greatly changed in a way not conducive to what could possibly happen.

Back in the seventies we use to ride motorcycles all over that spillway and the ditch.. Was some good times.

I thought when they list a flood pool level, that is the level it goes over the spillway. That seems to be the case with Lewisville. Why is Ray Rob flood listed at 640.5'?

They definitely need to be thinking strategy. Can we reverse pump/backwash into Towakani? I know they still have some room there. I'd hate to get a PSA. Ok everyone in DFW. On the count of three turn on your sprinklers and flush the toilets.

I can't answer that but RR is at 641.5 right now and if it was over the spillway we would know. You can see it from 455 west of the dam.

buck creek bridge 377 will be under water before it goes over the Roberts spill. and because of that jet ski accident now the corp has closed the larger portion of that cove off to all boaters. too bad it was a good fishing spot.
