Lake worth closed all ramps tonight, and eagle is dumping water like crazy into it.

Wow! Planned on going there saturday. Well that's frustrating. Any time frame on being reopened?

They reported it was an effort to keep docks from being damaged by wakes.

I feel like if this wasn't memorial day weekend, a few local lakes would still be open. Frustrating as all get out.

Why wouldn't they want them open this Memorial Day weekend? Seems like they are hurting themselves by turning away the revenue.

Property tax revenue is far more than they would collect from boat ramp fees. If you haven't figured it out already, lake front homeowners always win over fishermen.

Monday I was flipping into lawn chairs and swimming pool ladders...they don't want their furniture swept away by the wakes created by watercraft.

The property tax revenue is inelastic...it will come in no matter what. The boat ramp revenue is another story.

My feeling is they don't want to have to deal with the problems of a flooded lake and memorial day weekend.
