Anyone on here Noodle? I'm wondering if anyone has any tips, and when will be go time. Isn't the water already warm enough for the flatheads to be looking for places to spawn?

Not anymore. 4 heart attacks pretty much put an end to all the really exciting stuff.
Find you some good ol boys up around Kingston, Oklahoma if you really want to learn.
Maybe look up Willis Chapman in Kingston. Best noodler I know of.

In my experience it is still a little too early...typically start catching some channel cats the middle of May but not the flatheads until June. (I fish primarily West Texas but believe they start a little earlier in the Eastern part of the state.)

I have Noodled, and have done all my Pulling in Texoma, I do not like Creeks and rivers, so Texoma has Nice rocks to dig under. I am no pro, my Wife's family is, and they are brave. At the time, there is NO place to Grabble in Texoma, nor will there be for several months, and June is the time. Mid to late June. never have pulled from Lewisville..

usually first of july is the best time to start noodling in OK so it'd be maybe around the 21st of june in texas as that'll be the start of the spawn for flatheads or there abouts. Be sure to take a prod with you if you want to save your knuckles a little bit but don't use a lanyard or any kind of string loop to hang onto it with because that can get hung on something and drown you. Jersy gloves help too. But, again that's something that can save your knuckles but can possibly get hung up but jersy gloves can be ripped pretty easy. The prod is to save you from those late spawning channels and blues if you get out too early and right now is too early as only the channels and blues will be on the nests right now... don't get caught with blues or channels on your stringer if you're noodling because you may get a ticket ... be sure to check your regulations before you go ... it's a lot of money saved if you abide by the laws. Good fishin!

Make sure you check the laws out. They are different than Oklahoma. For instance, you are not allowed to use a stick in TX waters, even if you are using it just to check to hole (a little silly in my opinion).

Thanks,
Olen
