You know there is a PAC for almost every special interest group under the sun but I am not aware of a Sportsmans PAC. The only way to change almost anything politically is to support politicians that support you. Money talks an BS walks.
If there are any political groups out there that support our interests I would gladly support them in any way possible. We got something on the back burner. Will try and get it going before the end of this year.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Not to get too political, but in a representative democracy the whole point is for the public to elect someone that knows better than them... not someone that will do their every bidding Gotta' call BS on this one. The point is to elect someone who will represent the best interest of the electorate in their area (folks back home). That does not mean they should decide whats best for us, but rather, communicate with us discussing both sides of an issue and then take our message back to their peers and cast their vote accordingly .... represent us, not themselves or their political patrons (folks who pay for favors). Our current crop of progressive elitist politicians are closer to being the ROMAN SENATE than the FOUNDING FATHERS

If what they are saying about the budget numbers is true then why have we had to have all these license fee increases over the years? I mean it had gotten ridiculous what we have to pay to hunt and fish in this state. I can go to my home state; Louisiana, and buy everything I need to hunt and fish for anything non-resident with the native Louisianaian license for way less money than what I pay here to hunt as a resident with WMA permits. If I bought 2 of everything; which I normally do anyway because my son is in college, we could buy tags to hunt in Louisiana and (and hunt WMA) have enough money left over to buy a case of premium steel shot for duck season with the difference.....When I came here in 1991 the cost to hunt and fish here was nearly the same as what it cost in my home state........

The same author just wrote an article on damage to state parks. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/o...tem-6290711.phpI sent him an email and asked him to provide an update on his 2011 article. It seems like TPWD is really going to need the money the legislature is holding back.
