I know that a lot of the state has had more rain than they want, but heavy rain out in our neck of the woods has eluded us for the last 5 years or so. We've finally been getting great runoff to our near dry lakes due to some heavy rains. In the last 12-13 days Arrowhead is up 12', Kickapoo 13.75', Kemp 7', Nocona is over full, and Miller Creek is up 20'. TPWD is already restocking Florida bass and Striper Hybrids. We had some big storms last night and more are forecast Friday through Sunday so we're not through catching water yet. It's been a long time coming and a true blessing!

Hey Tony, are there any fish still alive in Kemp? I see the sign on my way to other destinations and was wondering.

The only good crappie fishing i know is lake arrowhead. I hope the crappie survived the drought. I know there are plenty here in the dfw area, but i just havent found them sinced i moved down here 8 years ago. I saw on my friends facebook page that lake wichita is full and water going over the spillway. But ive read that they are planning to drain that lake and dig it deeper soon. I wonder why they didnt do that when it was dried up the past few years. Also they will be draining it into the red river feeding into an already flooded lake texoma.

Tony, while I'm certainly glad you are getting much needed rain, I hope it all stays in the local lakes and doen't add to the Red River problems we are having down stream over here. Right now Texoma is predicted to go over the spillway this weekend and the Corp can't release much due to high water downstream. We are currently at 636.61 and the top of the spillway is 640. As of last night 100,000 cfs is flowing into the lake and they are only releasing about 10,000 cfs. In other words, the lake is building up at a rate of 90,000 cubic feet per second. AND, we haven't seen the effects yet of the downpour out west night before last. Saw on our news that you got something like 8" night before last. This is like a bad movie! Never seen anything like it.

Kickapoo is about to go over the spillway, Diversion already has once, Arrowhead is only 6 feet down and rising rapidly, Wichita went over last week, this is all great news for the area, bad news for Texoma.

I'm glad you guys out West are getting some much needed rain but I'm ready for it to stop here....... I live near the Pat Mayse/Hugo Lake area and the Red River is running pretty hard. This is the highest I've see it since the 1990 flood but it's still a ways from that level. Pat Mayse is about 6 feet high and Hugo is 27 feet high. Broken Bow lake is 26 feet high. I would love to see it stop raining here for at least a solid month, not one drop for 31 days.....Then go back to normal rainfall.

Hey Tony, are there any fish still alive in Kemp? I see the sign on my way to other destinations and was wondering. As far as I know there is nothing in Kemp with the exception of some catfish and rough fish that were able to survive the Golden Algae. Could be wrong, but this is what I've been told.

Never seen anything like it. Bob, You've still got a lot coming your way. According to local news, some of the rivers won't crest here until around noon Friday. Channel 3 is saying the NWS is predicting we'll get between 2-7 more inches before the weekend is over. I wish there was a way to divert some of it.

Received a text from my Dad (lives at Kickapoo) at 9:00 AM....Kickapoo is going over the spillway now. All that heads to Arrowhead....and once Arrowhead is full it heads to Lake Ringold...oh wait. Too bad there is not a suitable spot to build a lake on the Wichita River past Diversion...
