Rather than sit at the house and brood because my weekly visit to Joe Pool Lake was spoiled by high water I went to a nearby creek in a little park. At first it rained a little, but then it cleared up. The fish were in the edges of the grass bed between the middle of the creek and the far bank. That meant every cast had to be long. When I hit the sweet spot they bit, and when I missed they didn't.
I caught a nice variety. I did not keep count, but I took 22 pictures and I did not photograph all of them.
The bluegill and greens were small compared to the ones I catch at Joe Pool, but the longears were pretty respectable in size and very feisty.
The fish were caught on a number 6 baitholder hook on nightcrawlers. All were released.
All in all it was a good morning.
