Looking at buying a 26pitch prop to put on my 250 rude to push my ranger Z21 around the water hole..... Hoping I could pick up a few MPH's.... I know Rangers are not built for speed.... I just think that it should run a little faster then 64 mph.... What do you guys think and are there any ranger owners out there running a 26pitch on a rude??? Thanks!

depends on your RPM . Are you hitting the redline ? your motor may need to come up a bit. If you are not at red line max then no do not go to a 26.

So many variables..... RPM currently #1.....prop shaft measurement from pad #2....if you're not at close to max rpm then going up in pitch will slow you down....if your rpm's are low maybe motor is two deep and and/or prop is already not right.......look up a prop slip calculator and plug in your numbers..... A great prop and set up can have single digit slip %.....

Yes I'm currently at max RPM @ WOT. I have a hydraulic jack plate so adjusting that is at my fingertips. Boat does blowout just a bit out of the hole hence my idea of maybe going to a 26 pitch.

Try a 26 but try a Tempest plus. But call Steve he can tell you everything you want and need to know

My 2 cents worth. I run a Z520 with 250 ProXS. Have run a Tempest Plus and a Fury, interestingly I could turn a 26P Tempest Plus 5550 RPM and run 68 on a light load. A 25P Fury will turn same 5550 RPM's but gives more lift and therefore with alight load I can run 72 mph, give me a tail wind and I can squeak 74.1. But LOTS of variables, main three are air temperature, load (livewells, gas, extra chubby guy in boat) and wind direction. My point is RPM's aren't the end all-be-all. Try to run several prior to dropping three to five bills. The Z boat series you are in don't lift like the Z5 series boats, so to get speed you need lift
